Job Purpose
To be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining exhibition tools/assets, and disassembling exhibition installations on campus and off campus. As well as, monitor and maintain the Paint Workshop.

Main accountabilities & expectations
Be part of the exhibits preparation plan in terms of staging mounting, dismantling of exhibits, and other related tasks.
Coordinate with the faculty members on the process of exhibit installation and assist them with other exhibit needs.
Monitor the exhibit items set up and dismantle process to ensure that all exhibit items are painted, framed in a good condition, and labels correctly.
Arrange transportation services to move exhibit items to the required location, and ensure items are properly packed and safe transport.
Mange the Paint Workshop by making sure that equipment is in good working condition and report any issues and maintenance requests to the concerned person/department.
Monitor the Paint Workshop inventory to ensure the availability of parts and paint, and maintain inventory by ordering workshop equipment and consumables as per required specifications.
Assist the Faculty members in preparing schedules for students’ access/use of the Paint Workshop.
Oversee the cleanliness and tidiness of the Workshop at all times.
Ensure and reinforce follow through of safety standards and protocols in the Workshop, and implement safety training for both faculty and students.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Required Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
Knowledgeable in the use of basic carpentry techniques, hand tools, power tools, basic electrical wiring and lighting, paints and adhesives, and associated safety practices.
Ability to crouch, kneel and work in confined areas for extended periods.
Ability to lift heavy objects.
Demonstrate a good knowledge of modern electrical equipment.
Ability to solve problems and repair equipment on site.
Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks and produce reports under strict guidelines.
High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
Flexibility and ability to function effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

Diploma/Certificate in any related discipline.
2-4 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.
Priority is to UAE Nationals.
