Styli Common Job Description at a Glance:

Create and execute assortment plans monthly that supports the financial, merchandising and marketing objectives set by senior management
Drive sales, conversion, margin, stock cover and other web KPIs including category conversion & sell through
Spot emerging and declining trends through competitive mapping, historical sales and web analytics data, vendor relationships, and market research.
Develop sound business strategies for the department for the year
Participate in open-to-buy meetings with Merchandiser and provide feedback and analysis to ensure the department achieves financial targets
Drive weekly trade meetings with Merchandiser and update management on key messages/actions
Work directly with sourcing teams to fill any product gaps within the range by suggesting new requirements/supplier leads

Requirements

Must be currently working within a clothing department
Graduate with minimum 5 years experience in a buying role – Existing Senior Assistant Buyers and Junior Buyers will be considered.
Far East Buying trip experience preferred
Proven results negotiating with suppliers to improve costs/reduce lead times
Must demonstrate a passion for trends/fashion and a willingness to continuously stay up to date on emerging trends
Sound understanding of open costings with ability to use costing sheets
Strongly rooted to customer experience from a selection POV and is customer centric while also being commercially aware
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt them for different audiences: vendors, internal partners, stakeholders and leadership
Excellent problem-solving ability & strong use of initiative
Creative and innovative thinker who can think outside of the box to solve problems independently
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple tasks / prioritise work load
Must be able to balance the creative and analytical aspects of a fashion buyer role
Strong Excel skills
