Keolis Job Description at a Glance:

  • The main purpose of this position is to oversee the daily operations of the Dubai Metro engineering and maintenance stores.
    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the Dubai Metro engineering and maintenance stores, across three depots and multiple satellite stores. Take responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of all inventory related records (spares, consumables and tools) in the maintenance management system (Maximo). Develop systems and processes to ensure stock is well managed and key KPIs are reported. Ensure that all materials are receipted and booked into the maintenance management system (Maximo). Organise the stores for ease of use, ensuring that systems are in place for the controlling and booking out of stock. Implement an inventory cycle count process and ensure that the maintenance management system is reconciled in a timely manner. Ensure the application of FEFO – ‘first expiry, first out’ for all lotted items. Develop a process for the identification of fast moving, slow moving and dead moving items and ensure this review is undertaken periodically. Adopt a lean management philosophy and implement new processes which will improve the efficiency of the stores operation. Development of the stores team to ensure the skill levels and competency of each individual achieve the required standard to enable the operation to run efficiently. Ensure the stores organisation complies with the budgeting requirements. Develop a collaborative working relationship with colleagues at the client organisation – Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Act as the company representative for internal and external audits on the stores operation and promptly resolve any areas of non-conformity or recommendation. Maintain a good industry practice management process for tooling calibration and ensure that all relevant records are saved in the maintenance management system. Work closely with the RTA Assets Department to ensure that RTA tags are applied to all capitalized items in accordance with the RTA Assets Policy. Ensure waste management & disposal is carried out as per Dubai municipality guidelines. Meeting the Key Performance Indicators according to the targets agreed with the Engineering Procurement & Supply Chain Manager. Lead stores improvement projects such as barcoding and paperless transactions in coordination with the Project Team.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Knowledge with ERP (enterprise resource planning), preferably IBM Maximo, and PC literacy skills are essential. Knowledge of Stores or Warehousing operations are essential.

    KEY SKILLS Interpersonal skills with ability to work well in a team, manage and motivate others. Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills Negotiating Skills Leadership Skills Attention to detail

    EXPERIENCES A strong engineering stores or procurement career with a minimum of 7 years experience, preferably in the rail, transport, auto, heavy engineering or similar industries; At least 4 years of supervisory and management experience with the ability to manage rail systems specific spare parts and consumables inventory; Proven experience and ability of organising and maintaining contract and project documentation, ability to negotiate maturely and confidently with contractors and customers; A sound professional contractual and purchasing background and experience in preparing tender contracts, procedures, technical specifications, safety and quality plan as required; Sound commercial judgement in procurement reporting with an analytical approach would be highly desirable.

    EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Degree or higher diploma in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
