We are now looking for Principal Electrical Engineer (Power System) to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job Overview
The Principal Electrical Engineer (Power System) is responsible to take ownership of power system model and studies and should be able to deliver high quality engineering solutions for the assigned project, normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.

Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for providing technical input into the major equipment sizing and production of Power Generation & Distribution Engineering drawings / documents (equipment lists, key line diagrams, load schedules, cable schedules) and checking against design specifications while meeting client’s and international standards.
Advance experience using Power System modelling ETAP package, running load flows, short – circuit, transient stability, static / dynamic motor starting, harmonic analysis, arc – flash, and protection coordination studies, and issuing the corresponding power system study reports.
Review / understand the project SoW and perform activities as per schedule.
Provide Protection Engineering solutions for assigned project Recognize and communicate opportunities on design process.
Identify Scope changes and report to Lead and concerned Project Engineer.
Identify any concerns during design process and report to Lead Electrical Engineer/HOD.
Ensure deliverables are produced to meet the acceptable Quality Level Follow Project Schedule and control the Project Cost Liaison / co – ordination with client and sub – contractors / vendors for power system studies scope.
Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, and difficult co – ordination requirements Understand Company’s Business Management System (Comprising Business / Quality Procedures, Guidelines, Policies etc.) and follow accordingly Understand and Follow Company’s and Client’s HSE policies.
Skills / Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering Formal training of advanced ETAP Power System Modelling and Analysis would be an advantage Extensive experience working in a multi – disciplinary Engineering office in a similar role is highly desirable.
Good experience with O&G facilities design is mandatory Able to priorities workload to ensure all deadlines are met Positive working attitude, able to demonstrate self – motivation and proactive approach Flexible approach to design solutions Decision making skills Company Overview.
Ensure compliance to Laws and Statutory Regulations, Authority, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Requirements for the project.
Qualifications
Engineering Graduate (BSc. or MSc.) in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 15 years relevant engineering experience in in chemical / refinery / gas plant maintenance / inspection / engineering.
Solid experience with managing the electrical project documentation, including Single line, three line and control diagram, Electrical Studies (load flow, short circuit, motor starting and protection coordination).
Hands on experience in Grid connection requirements, studies (transient stability, electrical protections coordination, auto reclose, harmonics, PSS setting, Q/V, synchronous resonance, etc.) and tests.
Practical working experience in logic diagrams; cable routes and cable trays; I/O electrical and control signals; fiber optics links and communication equipment; critical safety tables; control strategies and operating procedures/training manuals through commissioning, start-up, and operation.
Solid understanding of fundamentals of power generation and generating units (voltage/reactive power control; speed and load controls; island transition and operation).
Possess important knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to Power Generation Plants, and Oil and Gas and Refining Industries (API, ISA, NEC / IEC, NFPA, ASME, ANSI/ASME, ASTM, etc.) also knowledge of Saudi Aramco specifications, standards, safety procedures, and working practices will be an advantage.
Have working knowledge in the use of industry wide design software packages like ETAP.
Bring experience to suggest new economical ways in designing the work – identify problem areas in the work practices and suggest improvements based on feedback and own previous experience.
Working experience in selection, specification, and design of major electrical equipment.
Working experience with reputed Engineering Consultant(s) is an advantage
