Oliver Wyman is now looking for a Learning and Development Specialist for the IMEA region. This role will be based in our Dubai office.
The Opportunity
Oliver Wyman is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to join the global Learning and Development team within the Human Capital function. This role will be responsible for organizing, delivering, and evaluating high quality training programs and training events. This role will have a regional focus within the IMEA Region, though will be expected to work seamlessly with the global team and may be required to travel where needed. The role will initially be responsible for the program management and coordination of the core curriculum for Consultants and will transition to supporting the coordination of an integrated curriculum for all staff (excluding Partners).
As part of a global team, the individual will need to be a detail oriented, self-starter who can operate without close supervision. They must be a team player and will require excellent communication skills to work in a complex, demanding, and global professional services environment. The role also requires a high degree of organization, significant attention to detail, strong customer service orientation and outstanding client relationship building skills.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Manage key relationships required to successfully plan and organize training:
Work closely with other functions in the Human Capital team (e.g., Talent Management, Recruiting) tocoordinate appropriate training at the appropriate time in an individual’s career
Develop strong professional relationships with internal facilitators and external vendors to determine areas of expertise and appropriate roles in core programs
Take ownership for assigned program delivery for Academies and Accelerators:
Full coordination of all aspects of program planning for classroom sessions as well as virtual sessions,including but not limited to: booking meeting rooms, setting up meeting rooms live or via Zoom,researching, selecting and booking hotels and restaurants, arranging catering, preparing and printingmaterials, working with other departments to ensure training programs are set-up and run successfully
Identify appropriate facilitators for programs based on course content and participant profile
Organize and facilitate host briefings based on understanding course content to provide facilitator with
background on program
Manage and host teambuilding and social events, owning venue selection and budget decisions and establishing and encouraging professional behavior in a fun, respectful atmosphere
Understand and adhere to budget set for programs and be accountable for delivering programs on budget
Provide suggestions to core content team based on training experiences and feedback from participants and internal facilitators
Complete feedback summary analysis to send to internal facilitators, hosts and course owner
Act as in room host for programs answering logistical questions and escalating content related questions as needed
Act in virtual training room as co-host and producer of the session
Act as a strong presence in IMEA to build the Learning & Development brand with colleagues
Escalate cancellation issues as needed
Identify areas of inefficiencies and work with L&D team to improve processes
General learning administration and coordination:
Contribute to core processes needed for the effective delivery of learning in the region.
Contribute to other human capital regional team activities as required
Experience Required
2-3 years of HR experience, preferably in professional services and/or L&D related
Degree educated in a relevant or related field. HR, psychology or learning disciplines preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced commercial environment
Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
