    Posted Date: Nov 25 2024This role can be located within other locations in the EM region where we have R&D footprint.External stakeholders and decision makers are increasingly requesting demonstration of the comparative clinical, economic, and humanistic benefits of medicines at the time of launch, and during the product lifecycle. GSK will require significant leadership and delivery from VEO to support and inform reimbursement and access, and appropriate utilisation of our medicines at launch and over the product lifecycle.

    To meet these needs, the VEO Director, General Medicines Lead, Emerging Market, is responsible for the design of Real-World Evidence generation strategies and execution of tactical plans to support Emerging Markets value demonstration needs. It includes health outcomes leadership, execution for launch, and lifecycle management research programs. The remit includes both pipeline and marketed assets within the TA.

    The VEO Director, General Medicines Lead reports to the Emerging Markets Head of VEO. The VEO Director will plan, lead, and oversee Real-World research that incorporates external insights and work closely with regional and local medical and access teams to understand EM physician and access needs. The Director will represent VEO on Global and Regional matrix teams and advise internal stakeholders in clinical development, medical affairs, market access, & commercial to support internal planning and decision-making during product development and commercialization. They will manage budgets for EM focused studies and projects and will be responsible for governance related activities for study proposals. Additionally, the Director is expected to cultivate a rich external research network & represent GSK at a disease/product level at external professional, scientific meetings, and forums.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Evidence Generation

    Lead and/or provide oversight for the development, management, design, implementation and delivery of EM evidence generation strategy and tactical plans for pipeline and marketed assets in a specific TA.
    Maintain awareness of developments in the EM health care environment and how these developments impact EM evidence generation needs
    Provide input into Global VEO and integrated evidence plans, to ensure EM needs are accommodated.
    Ensure VEO projects meet quality standards and are tracked, monitored, reported, and disclosed according to all relevant policies and procedures.
    Ensure VEO projects are delivered on time and on budget.
    Evidence Communication

    Develop scientific communications i.e., publication and dissemination plans, presentations, manuscripts, to communicate/disseminate evidence with external stakeholders.
    Leverage health outcomes data with Payers and Health Care providers.
    Train staff on health outcomes data and materials, as appropriate for organizational role
    Stakeholder management

    Build strong working relationships with Regional and Global stakeholders Medical, Market Access, and Global VEO to ensure strategic alignment and optimal cross-functional collaboration and communication
    Develop and maintain excellent working relations with key stakeholders in the EM Local Operating Companies (LOCs) to ensure capture of local insights and understanding of local needs
    Ensure key stakeholders including TA aligned business leaders are regularly updated on global and regional VEO plans through periodic reporting
    Develop excellent working relations with external thought leaders to ensure appropriate methods and research agendas are applied, in accordance with GSK policies.

    Basic Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in a relevant discipline i.e., health economics and/or outcomes research; epidemiology; medicine etc.
    Extensive experience (5+ years) working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a multi-national company
    Experience with Health Outcomes research and application
    Understanding of Pharma R&D, especially clinical trial planning and execution
    Understanding of the EM healthcare environment
    Experience with reimbursement & market access solutions for product development and post-launch plans
    Experience with application of VEO research at the product and therapy area levels
    Expertise in health economics, health outcomes, and comparative effectiveness research
    Experience with a variety of study designs, i.e. observational studies including prospective, cross-sectional and retrospective cohort studies
    Ability to communicate technical and complex concepts and results effectively to a variety of audiences to impact decision making
    Leadership and management experience
    Preferred Qualifications:

    If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

    Postgraduate Degree i.e., Ph.D. in a relevant discipline
    Strategic and tactical application of health outcomes research and therapeutic expertise
    Excellent verbal, written, presentation and organizational skills
    Experienced in interacting with all levels of management and staff
