ABS Job Description at a Glance:

ABSG Consulting is currently seeking to fill the position of HAZOP/PHA Chairman in the TIV Risk & Reliability Middle East team, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.Responsibilities for this position include (note: capability in all is not expected at this time):To plan, prepare and deliver facilitation of HAZOP. PHA, SIL/LOPA workshops for clients around the Middle East – using Virtual or face-to-face methods
Prepare Reports for client based on completed workshops
To develop and deliver training sessions to clients around the Middle East on the topics of PHA, HAZOP and SIL/LOPA – using virtual or face-to-face methods
To support proposal preparation for new opportunities
As appropriate to capabilities and experience beyond HAZOP/PHAS/SIL/LOPA support projects and proposals development for quantitative and/or qualitative process safety/risk assessment scopes.
Manage direct communications with clients and potential clients
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Qualification & Experience

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, preferably Master Degree in Process Safety.
Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in process safety/HSE Risk while working with consulting/operating companies/ experience working either as a free-lance consultant or staff.
This experience shall include a minimum of 10 years facilitating HAZOP/PHA for Chemical/Petrochemical/Fertilizer/Refining facilities. He should be approved as Chairman /PHA Leader and Trainer from Major Middle East Client Saudi Aramco, SABIC, ADNOC, KNPC, KOC, KJO etc.
Hand- on Experience in Chairing and training in PHA (HazOp, What-If, FMEA, FMECA, FTA, Checklist Analysis), LOPA/SIL Assignment and Verification.
Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
Hands-on experience in coordinating and delivering trainings to major oil and gas, chemical/petrochemical sector using face to face and virtual/remote methods.
Experience in delivering other HSE/Process Safety courses would be preferred.
Ability to develop training programs from scratch.
Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and Chairing PHA workshops using various techniques
Fluent in English correspondence. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
MS Office proficiency, Computer literate and relevant software experience (PHA Pro, PHA Works, PHA Leader).
Experience with quantitative risk assessment methodologies (e.g. QRA,BRA,FERA, ERA, ESSA, F&G Mapping etc.) and software (Phast/Safeti, Fred, Shepherd, Detect 3D, etc.) and/or experience with developing/enhancing/auditing PSM/HSE management systems would be an advantage.
Experience in developing/enhancing/auditing PSM/HSE management systems would be an advantage.
Proven soft skills including technical report writing, presentation, team and time management.
Certification Requirements (CFSE- Certified Functional Safety Expert), HazOp/PHA Certification (IChemE/TUV etc.)
Should be either CMIOSH (Chartered Member) or GradIOSH (Graduate Member), having NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or General Certification or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Environmental, Safety & Health Trainer (CET) by Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
