We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller to join ABL Group in Dubai. If you are an accounting professional and solution-oriented with an eye for detail, then this could be you.
As our Credit Controller, you will be responsible for debt collection for the Middle East on a wider scale and help with other functions of finance as required by Management.
In this role, you will support the business by ensuring the timely collection of debts and minimizing bad debts through proactive management of the debtor’s ledger and promoting the company through all its dealings with clients. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Ensuring timely collection of external and internal debts across UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and KSA.
- Communicating with clients in a professional manner either be on email or on the phone.
- Ensuring accurate and timely posting of entries in NetSuite, cash flow, and banking data.
- Highlighting potential bad debts to management on a timely basis.
- Updating daily cash received in Sidetrade and debtors’ sheets and inserting comments on day-to-day debt-chasing activities.
- Assisting with weekly meetings for debt collection, monthly accounts, banking reports, bad debt reports and cash flow analysis.
- Managing and reconciling bank weekly and monthly.
- Maintaining financial files and records of all customer invoices and receipts.
- Preparing invoices for clients in a timely and professional manner.
- Supporting the Regional Financial Director as required, and generally assisting with the preparation of budgets and credit control activities.
- Assisting with year-end statutory accounts and collecting data for annual audits.
- Assisting other accounting staff members during their leave period.
- Other duties as assigned.
The role is based in Dubai, and the incumbent must have the right to work and reside in Dubai, UAE. Flexibility with working hours from time to time.
We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate who demonstrates financial, and office management skills managing multiple tasks and assignments in one go with a strong attitude to work and adapting to a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and proactive in managing a varied workload. In addition, you:
- Holding a master’s degree in accounting or a qualified CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of credit control experience. Experience in collections within the energy and insurance industry will be an advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferably with formula-driven worksheets and accounting software.
- Good understanding of profit and loss and able to demonstrate experience within credit control.
- Experience with audit activities and reporting, payroll, budget and analyses, accounts payable and receivable
- Solid understanding of current accounting standards and a good understanding of cost/management and reconciliation of cash, debtors and creditors.
- Experience on NetSuite and using Sidetrade for debt reporting/booking cash will be an advantage.
- Meticulous, hard-working, conscientious, professional, and independent.
- Self-motivated and analytical with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
