Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:

· Practice the Specialty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and ensure compliance with generally accepted standards and medical practice.

· Actively and effectively perform procedures as privileged in the Hospital and consistent with your credentials.

· To provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate and effective for health promotion, disease prevention and treatment.

· To be aware of established and evolving medical and clinical sciences, and the application of knowledge to patient care and the education of others.

· To follow practice-based learning and improvement, using evidence based and scientific methods to investigate, to evaluate and to improve patient care practices.

· Consistently adhere to the Hospital’s Policies, Quality Standards, Code of Ethics and By-Laws.

· Ensure skilled professional behavior, and act a role model to the staff in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.

· Ensure the day-to-day provision of the highest standards of clinical care within the available resources.

· Implement the Department’s policies and procedures regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow-up practices.

· Assists with Consultant staff in ensuring adequate medical coverage is provided within the Department at all times.

Roles and Responsibilities
· To participate in improving initiatives within the Department.

· To meet and exceed customer expectations through the development and promotion of key principles that support customer satisfaction.

· To deal appropriately with complaints when necessary.

· To asses risk, report incidents and to participate in Risk Management processes.

· To ensure efficient and effective communication with patients, families and other members of the healthcare teams.

· To demonstrate professionalism and that is reflected in a commitment to continuous professional development, ethical practices, an understanding and sensitivity to diversity, and a responsible attitude towards patients.

· To follow system-based practices, through the understanding of the contexts and systems in which healthcare is provided.

Education Requirements

· MBBS or MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution or as defined by DOH PQR.

· Certificate of Completion of specialty training recognized by DOH or as defined by DOH PQR.

Licenses, Registrations & Certifications Requirements

Must hold a valid License/Registration to practice in their home country and/or country of last employment (Where applicable).
DOH License as Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Professional Experience Required (Relevant to the Job)

· Minimum 3 years of experience post specialist qualification or as defined by DOH PQR.
