Due to continued market growth, our client a globally International Project Management Consultancy seeks to appoint a Project Director – Construction Management to lead the project management and construction management of multiple build projects across the UAE, Oman and Bahrain across 25+ projects, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role also is responsible for winning of new projects through to project award and development of existing client relationships.

Reporting to the Managing Director – Project and Construction Management, , managing 25 direct reports and 250 indirect reports across multiple building projects, this role is responsible for the following:

Strategic leadership of the Construction Management and Supervision teams across the region across the construction planning through to the development and delivery of projects ensuring a high-quality consultancy service is delivered to clients. Project Management is also required but is less of a focus.
Geographical coverage comprises the UAE, Oman and Bahrain.
Direct entire phases of programs to ensure projects are delivered to budget, program and quality.
Development of Growth Strategy for the CMS Division including business development, tendering, winning of work ensuring profitability of projects and enabling client retention for future projects. Preparation of proposals and review of fee proposals.
Ensure efficient administration of projects including internal job costings.
Liaison with divisional colleagues in relation to service delivery improvements, resource allocations, market knowledge and business development of new and existing clients.
Oversight of the Project Management Plan (PMP) including communication and control procedures and systems.
Implementation of Health and Safety and QA/QC policies and procedures.
Recruitment and selection of senior staff for the PMCM Division including Civil, Systems Engineer and
Resident Engineers.

As the client’s representative, oversight of construction, inspection and verification activities for contractors
Lead CM coordination meetings with clients, third parties and key stakeholders.
The attributes we seek include:

Bachelor in Engineering or comparable is essential with a Master’s Degree being highly regarded.
Candidates most possess a membership of Professional Engineering or Project / Construction Management Society or other recognized body. Certificates in PMP (Project Management Professional) is desirable.
Candidates must possess 15+ years’ executive experience in the project delivery of complex, large scale Project Management Construction Management build projects.
The exceptional communicator we seek for this role must be experienced and proficient in report writing, presentations (spoken and preparation) and have the technical capacity to deliver presentations on complex issues.
Candidates must possess a demonstrated track record in the performance management of multi-disciplinary teams and delivery of complex projects to meet client requirements.
Solid experience in the management of planning, design and construction on large projects including the ability to develop strategic solutions.
Proven business development capabilities including leadership of client relationships, bids and proposals.
Candidates must be proficient in English with Arabic language skills being desirable.
